2015 Summer Clan Wars Champions

Congratulations to all members of the Ghost Hippies Elite community on winning the PC Heavyweight Bracket in Clan Wars! We not only finished with the highest score in our division, but the highest score of all other PC Clans. We attribute our success to preparation , execution, and commitment. Our community members  were integral in helping us rally over these past few Clan wars events and demonstrate why we are the best PC gaming community in the world.

In the finale of Clan Wars: Hamburg, we defeated the Bloodstaff Clan by going all-out to capture the TDM node. We drew first blood and never looked back. Our rivals were dispatched 88-0. We overcame many obstacles,  but heart and skill will always triumph over cheats. We could not be any more proud of our members.

Just because  Clan Wars has concluded does not mean our community will be slowing down. We will continue to play Call of Duty, while anxiously waiting for games like Star Wars Battlefront and Rainbow Six: Siege. We cannot wait till November to defend our Clan Wars title in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.  We hope to see you around our TeamSpeak server in the near future.

At the conclusion of each Clan War, we usually post a graphic of the event's top contributors. Instead, we would like to give thanks to ALL our members who contributed in the Clan Wars this season!

Protect Your Steam Account!

All the members of our gaming community use Steam to manage and play video games. We strongly recommend all Steam users to secure their accounts using Steam Guard or Steam’s Mobile Authenticator for two-step verification. Unfortunately, hackers might be able to obtain your login-credentials, regardless of the complexity of your password.

Two-factor authentication requires you to input some additional information into Steam whenever you login. The first method, Steam Guard, will alert you whenever someone tries to access your Steam account from a new computer or browser. Steam will send a message to the E-mail address associated with your PC containing a small code, which will be required to log into that new workstation.

The Steam Guard Mobile authenticator works in a similar fashion, but runs on your smart-phone. The application will sync to your Steam account and generate a code every few seconds. Whenever you login into Steam, you will be prompted to enter the code displayed on your mobile phone.

There are plenty of horror stories of Steam users who have had their accounts hacked, their inventory cleaned out, friend’s list deleted, and VAC banned for actions they did not commit. Steam Support will help you get your account back, but they will be reluctant to revert these malicious changes.  Protect yourself at all times!

PC Showcase

We are creating a new section on our website to showcase our members' gaming hardware. As you may remember, we collected some information about the hardware components you used in your machine. If you would like us to share this information, please message ReaPeR and send in some pictures of your gaming PC.

We are also looking for comments about maybe your favorite component of your build, an interesting story, or maybe one piece of hardware you wish you had. This section is just for fun and not mandatory.

New Emblem and Logo

We have created a new logo for Ghost Hippies Elite! Please check out the following gallery and let us know what you think. The header's for our website and twitter account have also been updated to reflect the new GH logo.

There is also a new Clan Tag available for all members. We have decided all users, regardless of K:D to put the "ELITE" title in their emblem. The new emblem is on the Clan Wars App, so you can just copy, paste, and customize it. Please talk to a clan officer if you have any questions.

Looking for a Scrim?

The Ghost Hippies Elite community is looking for other players or clans to play against. As you may know, it is rather difficult to find a matches on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, especially with parties of five or more players. We would like to go head-to-head with any player or clan who is willing to play against us during Clan Wars! We do not care what division you or your clan is in. We are just looking for honest and competitive players who are tired of waiting around lobbies for matches and looking for a real challenge.

If you are interested, please message one of the group's officers on our steam page! Alternatively, shoot us a message on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, or Google+  if you are interested!

In Defense of Ghost Hippies

Post By: Molus Rhime:

We here at Ghost Hippies find it most unfortunate that there are those who would go out of their way to publicly purport that some of our members cheat, hack, lag switch or employ any other unfair advantage of that nature. With all due respect, such accusations are completely baseless, ignorant and just plain untrue. As a gaming collective, we always strive to do the best we can as often as we can, using only what the game gives us. It can be uplifting to see what good communication, thorough teamwork and a growing understanding of a game’s mechanics can accomplish. Though we are far from infallible and have certainly lost our fair share of matches, we have proven time and again to be a more than capable competitor on the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare stage as our current Leaderboard standings can attest to, standings that were achieved fairly and honestly.

Of course, we do not wish to be hoarders of our knowledge of this game, or any game for that matter, and would be more than willing to help out and provide pointers and suggestions to anyone who asked and desired to improve his or her gameplay. Conversely, there is much that we in turn could learn from others as well. However, there needs to be a mutual respect and understanding beforehand and it would behoove us all to take responsibility for our own failures and shortcomings as opposed to forming flimsy conclusions concerning our opposition or hastily blaming factors other than our own potential lack of abilities and performance on any given day. Needless to say, we are not perfect nor are we expected to be but our strengths lie in how we play together and support each other, in what we gain from the experience of our fellow teammates and what we are able to give them in return. These are some of the hallmarks of truly great players and when both the individual and the group are appreciated in kind and succeed as one, it is the best of both worlds.

We can only hope that, with time, those who still question our legitimacy might mature, think rationally and take our perspective into consideration. In the meantime, just know that we will not apologize for playing well when we are able to and for earning the victories that we have fought for. As for our defeats, we try to accept those with dignity and refrain from condescending or insulting others in the process. And yes, there are occasions where some words will be aired out of bitterness or frustration after the fact for such is an aspect of being human. No one is beyond hubris but may we all find it in ourselves to retrain our eyes and see that hubris for what it really is rather than become a prisoner of it. Let us remain civil and open to aiding one another instead of jumping to brash judgment and squandering yet one more opportunity to form friendships. There are better moments ahead, if we would live for them.
